March report
One month closer to summer or how we had a crazy March π€©
Well, you know for sure that we did not sit still and made so many plans π± But we will tell you about it very soon. For now, here is our report for the past month ππ»
As part of the Uniting for Action programme with @yednanniazaradydii:
π¨ 2 workshops for 41 charming IDP women and wives of military personnel, where they created their own paintings: with the help of brushes, paints and canvases, each of them was able to release emotions, convey their vision and relieve themselves mentally π«
π£ 8 conversation clubs for IDPs aged 30 and older, where they improved their knowledge of Ukrainian and English: even if you speak a language all your life, it doesn’t mean you know everything π These are the thoughts that come out of the club and come to the next lesson to learn something new ππ»
πΌ Workshop from a relaxed business and a brand new Speed Job Interview format: we listened to the stories of those who managed to start over in a new city and met top employers in Dnipro.
In partnership with @intersos, we provided large families, people with disabilities and IDPs living in Kryvyi Rih district with heating equipment: 82 heaters, 99 warm blankets, 117 kits for children’s creativity, 43 humanitarian kits ππ»
πͺ Visited a new space excursion @planetarium_noosphere with 33 children and 18 adults: planetary travel captivated everyone’s heart with its brightness, interesting facts and the opportunity to feel real for a moment astronaut π§π»βπ
πͺ Learned how to make sweet cookies at @zuckerwill_ua together with 20 kids: these are not lollipops, this is a higher level π but the fun, typing and dancing with our Aliona are the same π
πͺ Conquered the sand magic with 27 children at @kolora.family.dp: the sea world in Dnipro? Easy! Finding treasures? We can do that too! They can do anything after such a masterclass π And we are only too happy. The main thing is to make the kids smile.
π We visited the renovated @planetakino cinema and watched Cat & Dog: Crazy Adventures”: the interesting adventures of yesterday’s stray dog and the star cat who escaped from the plane because they were not allowed to fly in the cabin. With the crunch of popcorn, we found out how the story ended, but we won’t tell you π Go to Planet Kino and find out for yourself ππ»
π Together with @psychologist_dnepr_lolita_geta, 28 children painted plaster figures and created mandalas: such a wonderful art therapy allowed children to feel light, survive their own anxieties and add colour to their everyday life π«Άπ»
πΈ We organised a masterclass from our Asya and Daryna, where 42 children created greeting cards for March 8, beaded jewellery and slides: creating beauty with your own hands is a real art that our children have already learnt “perfectly” ππ» Here they not only had fun and distracted themselves from the news, but also made new friends π
π©π»βπ« 22 students have successfully and enthusiastically completed the English course @esl_dp: knowledge of the language opens many doors, so it is better to deal with this issue from an early age. Thanks to the author’s programme, children have no barriers to speaking ππ»
The team also kept up and here’s what they attended:
π Meeting with the Association of Youth Centres of Ukraine
π “Capacity building training”
π “Empowering Women-Led CBOs and Initiative Groups through accessing funding (FUNDRAISING)”
π BOD personnel reserve. Resilience and recovery
π 2nd annual conference “Ukrainian Leadership in Aid”
π “Monthly meeting on food aid”
π “How and why NGOs should use Linkedin to find partners and donors”
π “Subnational meeting of the RHIB partners in Dnipropetrovska oblast”
π Practical training to develop communication skills with beneficiaries
That’s it, we’ve moved on π«‘
Let’s break into April with Rise ππ
