Report for May

Report for May - Rise of Ukraine

The spring season 2024 is officially closed 😎

We have done so much during this time 😱
So, let’s stop talking and start summing up the results of May 👌🏻

Within the framework of the “Uniting for Action” programme, we held cool events for IDPs aged 30+, namely:

  • 2 canvas painting workshops: thanks to art, women were able to express their emotions and let go of everything that was bothering them in this difficult time.
  • 7 conversation clubs in Ukrainian and English: we continue to immerse ourselves in learning languages and learning something new. These activities help us to distract from the news and make new friends. And we need new friends at any age 😉
  • SPEED JOB INTERVIEW: the already favourite job search format once again arranged a day of action with the city’s top employers. We are in favour of not sitting still and developing, and therefore we are happy to help people find their dream job.
  • A workshop from a relocated business is a great opportunity to learn from the experience of others and avoid mistakes. Thanks to the frank stories of those who started a business anew in a new place, many of the guests were inspired to create something of their own and realised that it was not scary.
  • They visited the Dnipro Art Museum and the Vadym Sidura Museum: they felt Ukrainian art and saw with their own eyes what talented people our land gives birth to.

🫂 Our team supported the families of military personnel with children and children who lost their parents at the front and provided 64 humanitarian kits with essential food and hygiene products.

🍕 We attended a cool quest from VARUS together with 10 IDP children: here we learned more about what professional employees do and performed various fun tasks. And the final stop of our adventure was a delicious pizza.

🖌 The children made gifts for themselves as a reminder of the masterclasses on drawing on shoppers and making keychains that we did together with the ”СпівДія” charity foundation: here, through creativity, everyone was able to show their uniqueness and emotionality. We were just shocked by these talented kids 😍

🥋 We started to learn the power of samurai at a brand new karate course: Timur, the sensei of our hearts, teaches kids discipline, develops their physical skills and coordination, a step-by-step approach to various complex exercises and basic elements of karate. That’s it, the Rise of Ukraine super squad will soon be ready to conquer the world 😎

👩🏻‍🏫 The kids improved their English skills in 20 ESL classes: everyone knows more words and will soon start making their own vocabulary.

🤖 We created the future with children of IDPs and military personnel at a basic robotics workshop: they created their first robots, which then competed in a race. All the children won because they conquered the technologies of the future at such a young age.

👩‍🦼‍➡️ Provided a wheelchair to a veteran who defended our country

And the team managed to recharge their batteries with new knowledge at:
💡 Information session for direct and implementing partners of the GCF.
💡 Meeting of the Technical Working Group on Livelihoods (TWGLT).
💡 Meeting of the Food Assistance Working Group.
💡 Training on BLS and STB.
💡 Implementing partner’s PSEA Capacity reinforcement.
💡 Subnational FSLC Partners’ Meeting in Dnipropetrovska oblast.

We won’t even hint at what an awesome summer awaits us. Everyone knows that our team cannot live a day without great ideas.

Coming soon…

Everything will be with Rise 💙💛
