Volunteers’ everyday life: what do Rise team members think about their work?

Volunteers’ everyday life: what do Rise team members think about their work? - Rise of Ukraine

Ukraine is currently fighting for its freedom, land and independence. Each of us must not stand aside and help on our own front.

For us, volunteering is an opportunity to help bring victory closer, to support the military and civilians affected by the war.

Every time we meet with IDP children or adults, we see what their needs are and how happy they are to have those who will be with them in this fight. Every smile, every happy face that for a moment forgot that home is now a different place is what inspires us to keep going and keep moving forward.

Our team shared their thoughts on their work and volunteering

Alyona (Project Manager):

“Every day I take on a new challenge and at first I may not even understand how to do it. But big eyes of surprise and the thought that it is impossible have never stood in the way of achieving the goal. There is a way out of any situation, you don’t have to give up – this is the main lesson of our work.”

Polina (SMM Manager):

“Our team is one big family that is always ready to help and support. Every day we learn something, develop, and challenge ourselves to new heights. Our work is about helping Ukrainians in difficult times, supporting young children and learning something new. Volunteering is a chance to find yourself, develop or gain new skills that will help you in your future life.”

Being a volunteer is a daily job where you give your heart to other people. Every day we experience the pain of loss and fear of the unknown together with those we help. Every day we see the consequences of the invasion, how lives are destroyed and carefree childhoods are taken away.

Thanks to volunteer assistance, it is possible to solve many different issues for the military and IDPs, because nothing is impossible for volunteers, as it has already been proven. As we  work only for the sake of victory and a bright future for Ukraine,  so we need daily support from donors.
