Our team travelled to Europe to organise a sensitive photo exhibition, The Price of Life. It shows the real horrors experienced by residents of the Kherson region.

Through his lens, Oleksandr Tolokonnikov was able to convey the heroism and indomitable spirit of the Ukrainian people. We are grateful to Oleksandr for his trust in us and for not being afraid to film everything that is happening in these dark times.

“The Price of Living” is a photographic story about the pain, horror, resilience and strength of the people of Kherson.

It was our first business trip abroad and with such an important mission, so we were very nervous. But, there was no need to worry. Thanks to the support of Ukrainians and local residents, everything went incredibly well.

As those who organised the photo exhibition for the first time, we did not expect such a success. We had a lot of people who came to visit us and supported us not only with their presence but also with donations. All the money raised will be used to restore the Kherson region.

Our first stop was the Czech city – ─Мesk├й Bud─Ыjovice, where everyone felt the full range of emotions. And the second was Bratislava, which was visited by Kherson residents who witnessed everything depicted in the photos with their own eyes.

We are sincerely grateful to everyone who visited us and to the Ukrainian Community Centre “Nadiya” and the Ukrainian Institute in Bratislava for their cooperation and assistance in organising the events.

The Rise of Ukraine team does not plan to stop and believes that this event has become the beginning of a platform for expressing support and solidarity of every European with the residents of Kherson region.

Anyone can join this mission by donating on our website.

Sometimes the most important score of a match is not displayed on the scoreboard. You can see it in the people who come together around a shared purpose. In the donations made between halves. In teams that step onto the field for more than just victory. And in children’s dreams that become a little closer […]

The Team That Holds the Process Together
The Team That Holds the Process Together Charitable organizations tend to talk about outcomes. The number of aid deliveries, the volume of assistance provided, the projects completed. Far less often does the focus fall on the people behind those processes — the ones who weave them into the fabric of daily work. At Rise of […]

PROSTONEBA: An Experience That Translates Into Results The PROSTONEBA festival, which the Rise of Ukraine team has been hosting for several consecutive years, has gradually taken shape as an event with a clear internal logic. While its details and content evolve from year to year, it holds on to what matters most — the combination […]

How Changes in Space Transform Everyday Life: the Rise of Shelter Project in Dnipro
In Dnipro, there is a place where people learn how to move forward after being forced to relocate. The “Dzherelo Pidtrymky” shelter has been hosting internally displaced persons for nearly four years and, for many, has become a temporary home. With the financial support of Hungarian Interchurch Aid, we implemented the Rise of Shelter project […]

Fedir: An Experience That Has to Be Accepted and Lived Through
Fedir Samburskyi, call sign “Shkiper,” speaks about his journey without any attempt to simplify it or frame it through easy formulas. For him, this experience does not add up to a single story that can be briefly retold — it looks more like a sequence of decisions and states that a person has to remain […]

Pavlo: A Story About a Childhood That Has to Be Rebuilt
Pavlo is eleven. He is from Kharkiv — a city where a significant part of his life remains: training sessions, performances, first victories, and the familiar environment that shapes a child far more than it might seem. Before the full-scale invasion, his days were filled with activity. He sang, competed in regional contests, won prizes, […]
Balloons That Survived the War
Balloons That Survived the War
Before the war, Liudmyla Vynnyk lived in a small town called Novovorontsovka in the Kherson region. The kind of place where people know each other by name, where celebrations always begin with decorated halls, children’s smiles, and colorful balloons drifting slowly up toward the ceiling. Those balloons became her life’s work. As far back as […]
