In January, we did so many things that we generally look at this list and do not understand when and how we did it all 😱 And we can only imagine what awaits us next at this pace 🌪

And what did we manage to do in the first month of the new year? Here’s a look:

🎄 Together with 80 children of IDPs and military personnel, we helped Michael, Sally and Boo in their New Year’s adventures. Let’s be honest, if it wasn’t for our help with this interactive New Year’s performance, they would hardly have found that magic door 🚪 Yes, we know they were very lucky to have such guests 😜

🎁 94 families of military personnel and children who lost one or two parents because of the war received wonderful humanitarian kits from our friends @spaceeyeev.

🎪 There were only 300 Spartans, and as many as 500 of us 😱 And not just fifty people, but those who came to plunge into the magical atmosphere of the Dnipro State Circus for the performance “Santa Gathers Friends” and get something from us as a souvenir. And those children who brought their drawings on the theme of the circus also received gifts from @magwings 🤗

🪐Ready to conquer outer space with future astronauts at our astronomy course with @planetarium_noosphere 🧑🏻‍🚀 This is not just one lecture, it’s a whole training school for explorers of the Universe. It is also located in a very special place – our HAB. You’re already jealous, right?

🗣 Do you speak English? After all, thanks to the author’s methodology from @esl_dp, English classes at our HAB are mostly conversational. And this shows a really impressive result 👌🏻

⏳27 children conquered the element of sand under the supervision of fairies @kolora.family.dp. And with their own hands they managed to create paintings on various topics and even pamper a little 🤌🏻

🍭 And what about blood sugar levels? It seemed to 17 children that it was too low and they urgently needed to raise it. So @zuckerwill_ua solved this problem very quickly – a masterclass on making jelly sweets and that’s it, no problem. Our Alyonka was there with her sweet questions and even danced. Oh, she made a lot of noise there. But what a nice 💃🏻

🏠 Together with @goldenkids_ukraine, we organised a trip to the magical Colombian forests for 46 adults and children and introduced them to the extraordinary Madrigal family.

✍🏻А To make our work even better, the team is also constantly evolving. This month we attended the following public events:
😎 ZMINA: Rebuilding Matchmaking session!
😎National coordination meeting of the Food Security and Livelihoods Cluster partners
😎 Workshop “Ethics and gender sensitivity in research”
😎 3-day camp “The Art of Philanthropy”
😎 Subnational meeting of the KSHRC partners in Dnipro region
😎 Meeting with representatives of the German Blue and Yellow Cross Foundation

If the year has started at such a pace, then we are already preparing for an active year 🤩 And we are only glad, because sitting still is definitely not for us

The Team That Holds the Process Together
The Team That Holds the Process Together Charitable organizations tend to talk about outcomes. The number of aid deliveries, the volume of assistance provided, the projects completed. Far less often does the focus fall on the people behind those processes — the ones who weave them into the fabric of daily work. At Rise of […]

PROSTONEBA: An Experience That Translates Into Results The PROSTONEBA festival, which the Rise of Ukraine team has been hosting for several consecutive years, has gradually taken shape as an event with a clear internal logic. While its details and content evolve from year to year, it holds on to what matters most — the combination […]

How Changes in Space Transform Everyday Life: the Rise of Shelter Project in Dnipro
In Dnipro, there is a place where people learn how to move forward after being forced to relocate. The “Dzherelo Pidtrymky” shelter has been hosting internally displaced persons for nearly four years and, for many, has become a temporary home. With the financial support of Hungarian Interchurch Aid, we implemented the Rise of Shelter project […]

Fedir: An Experience That Has to Be Accepted and Lived Through
Fedir Samburskyi, call sign “Shkiper,” speaks about his journey without any attempt to simplify it or frame it through easy formulas. For him, this experience does not add up to a single story that can be briefly retold — it looks more like a sequence of decisions and states that a person has to remain […]

Pavlo: A Story About a Childhood That Has to Be Rebuilt
Pavlo is eleven. He is from Kharkiv — a city where a significant part of his life remains: training sessions, performances, first victories, and the familiar environment that shapes a child far more than it might seem. Before the full-scale invasion, his days were filled with activity. He sang, competed in regional contests, won prizes, […]
Balloons That Survived the War
Balloons That Survived the War
Before the war, Liudmyla Vynnyk lived in a small town called Novovorontsovka in the Kherson region. The kind of place where people know each other by name, where celebrations always begin with decorated halls, children’s smiles, and colorful balloons drifting slowly up toward the ceiling. Those balloons became her life’s work. As far back as […]

When a First Bicycle Ride Becomes a Great Victory
Oleksandr Vasylchenko is twelve years old. His life, like that of many Ukrainian children, is closely bound up with the war that has been ongoing in the country for many years. Sasha’s father has been serving in the military since 2014, defending Ukraine. Due to his service, his father is rarely home, and so from […]
