What’s Happening at Rise: Activities for Children and Teenagers

Whether your child loves hands-on activities, drawing, experimenting, and meeting new people—or is a bit older and wants to tackle the NMT (National Multi-Subject Test), AI, business, or public speaking—we have something to offer.

As part of a project run by Rise in partnership with the international humanitarian organization Save the Children, we are hosting free activities for children and teenagers in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

We offer a variety of formats; here is what you can sign up for right now.

For Teenagers Aged 12–17

Expect plenty of hands-on practice and topics that will be useful either now or in the near future.

For instance, we offer English-language workshops. Some sessions will focus on the English section of the NMT, helping students avoid getting stuck on a single task for ten minutes. Others will cover CVs, motivation letters, Erasmus+, and opportunities that make English suddenly feel much more exciting than textbook exercises.

Another area of focus is public speaking. We will work on voice control, intonation, gestures, and self-presentation, as well as how to stay composed when standing up to speak in front of an audience.

For those interested in their own projects and entrepreneurship, we are offering workshops on product creation and starting a business from scratch. We will explore how to validate an idea, identify the target audience, get started, and understand why it’s best not to pour all your money and energy into the launch right away. We will also discuss leadership, teamwork, and artificial intelligence. During the AI sessions, we’ll test various tools, learn how to craft effective prompts, use them for learning and creative tasks, and—crucially—verify the responses they generate.

What’s in store for children aged 6–12?

Expect less talk and more creative fun.

Sessions will be held in small groups for children aged 6–8 and 9–12, ensuring everyone gets enough attention and time to fully engage in the process.

We’ll create sand art and craft our own stories through sand animation.

“Neuro-activities” will include making mandalas, diamond mosaics, and slime, as well as paracord weaving. Themes will rotate, so there’s always something new to try.

There will also be drawing classes—with no requirement to already be an artist. Here, kids can experiment with colors and techniques, invent their own ideas, and see what emerges.

At the candle-making workshops, children can choose their own shapes, decorate their creations, and take their finished work home. And once a month, we’ll simply host a group cartoon screening at the Hub. After all, not every meeting has to be educational—sometimes it’s just great to watch a cartoon in good company 🍿

Who can join

These activities are open to children and teenagers living in, temporarily staying in, or receiving support within the Dnipropetrovsk region.

During registration, we will ask for a few details required for project participation. In certain cases, parental or legal guardian consent will also be required for children’s activities.

If demand exceeds capacity, our team will prioritize children and families who have a particular need for these opportunities. For example, those who were forced to relocate due to the war, were affected by shelling, have limited access to education or safe leisure activities, or are facing difficult social or financial circumstances.

We consider the family’s situation as a whole, so not falling into a specific category does not mean automatic refusal. ## Choose what interests you right now

You can attend a single workshop on AI, then try your hand at public speaking. Sign your child up for sand animation, and next time—for slime making or drawing.

We will be adding new dates and topics regularly, so keep an eye on the registration forms and pick what appeals to you.
