V.Rise Hub Has Officially Opened in Dnipro: How the Hub Works and What Support Is Available

V.Rise Hub had already begun receiving its first requests for support, developing programmes, and working with partners. Now, the hub also has an official opening date.

We kept the opening small and personal, bringing together veterans, colleagues from organisations working in the veteran support sector, representatives of local communities and public authorities, partners, volunteers, media representatives, and friends of the fund.

Among the guests – representatives of GIZ, People in Need, the Right to Protection Charitable Foundation, veteran support centres and civil society organisations, veteran and family support specialists, representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as officials responsible for veteran policy at the city and regional levels.

Instead of a long formal programme, we focused on conversations and connecting people with one another. We showed guests around the space and consultation rooms, shared the story behind V.Rise Hub, and introduced the team and our key areas of work. We also discussed what veterans and their families currently need most and where different organisations can jointly provide better support.

After welcoming remarks from partners and donors, we had a ribbon-cutting ceremony – after all, an official opening would not feel quite official without one. Then we continued conversations, introductions, and discussions of plans for future cooperation.

It was especially important to us that V.Rise Hub opened its doors by welcoming people who are already doing so much in this field. These connections often become the starting point for new programmes, referrals to the right specialist, or a joint response to a need that no single team can address on its own.

What Is V.Rise Hub?

V.Rise Hub is the veteran support initiative of the Rise of Ukraine Charity Fund in Dnipro.

It was created as a place where veterans and their families do not have to search separately for a psychologist, lawyer, or career consultant, or figure out which organisation to contact with a particular issue.

You can start with a single request to the hub team. From there, we will help clarify your needs, connect you with the right specialist, or guide you towards other services where you can receive the support you need.

All V.Rise Hub services are free of charge, and all requests and personal information are treated confidentially.

You do not need to have an official veteran ID to make your first request for support.

Who Can Contact the Hub?

V.Rise Hub works with veterans, service members transitioning back to civilian life, and members of their families.

Spouses and partners, parents, children, as well as families of fallen and missing service members can also seek support.

You do not need to know in advance which specialist you should see. If your request is simply, “I don’t know where to start,” that is also a perfectly valid place to begin a conversation with the team.

What Support Is Already Available at V.Rise Hub?

Psychological Support

The hub offers individual psychological consultations – up to six sessions per person – as well as group sessions, crisis support, psychoeducational meetings, and art-based, body-oriented, and sound practices.

Dedicated formats are also available for families.

Case Management

A case manager can help break down your situation into specific issues, identify your current needs, and develop a clear plan for the next steps.

This is particularly useful when several issues need to be addressed at once – for example, when someone needs legal advice, psychological support, and assistance accessing social services.

When necessary, the case manager will refer you to a specialised professional or partner organisation and continue to support you throughout the process.

Legal Assistance

You can book an individual legal consultation on issues that arise during or after the transition back to civilian life.

If your request requires expertise in another area of law, the team will help you find the appropriate specialist.

Career, Employment, and Entrepreneurship

At V.Rise Hub, you can also be consulted on questions related to your professional future: identify your skills and possible career paths, prepare for a job search, or explore education and retraining opportunities.

A separate area focuses on economic empowerment, including financial literacy, business education, and starting or developing your own business.

Programmes Already Underway

One of the hub’s major initiatives is being implemented with the support of the Right to Protection Charitable Foundation.

The programme will run from 3 August 2026 to 28 February 2027 and is expected to reach at least 450 veterans and their family members in Dnipro and communities across Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

The programme includes case management, psychological and legal consultations, support groups, educational, sports, and community-building activities, family-oriented formats, and Rise Community Days.

Up to 420 individual psychological consultations, 50 group psychological activities, and 200 individual legal consultations are planned.

The programme’s grant provider and implementing partner is the Right to Protection Charitable Foundation, with funding provided by the Government of the United States of America.

Another area of work is a veteran reintegration programme supported by People in Need.

It combines individual work with specialists and group sessions. Participants will work with career consultants and mentors, develop their own plans for further growth, and explore financial literacy, employment, education, and opportunities to start their own businesses.

Each programme cohort will include 20 participants.

The Hub Continues to Grow

V.Rise Hub was created as much more than a renovated physical space.

At the same time as preparing the premises, the team developed its service model, analysed the needs of veterans and their families, recruited specialised professionals, and built partnerships with organisations that already have extensive experience in veteran support.

This work continues after the official opening.

Our plans include expanding activities to communities across Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, organising regular family, educational, sports, and community-building activities, further improving the accessibility of the space, and involving veterans and veteran organisations directly in planning future programmes.

V.Rise Hub is intended to remain a permanent area of the foundation’s work even after individual grant-funded programmes come to an end.

Most consultations are available by prior appointment.

All services are free of charge. All requests are confidential.

Most importantly, you do not need to decide on your own whether you need a psychologist, lawyer, case manager, or another specialist. You can simply contact V.Rise Hub and start with a conversation.
