Three years of the Rise of Ukraine Foundation – three years of stories of strength, support and faith

On May 2, 2025, the Rise of Ukraine Charitable Foundation celebrated its third anniversary. The festive event took place in the conference hall of the Tsunami Hotel and brought together more than 120 guests – partners, donors, representatives of local governments, business, the public sector, international organizations and the media.

This year’s slogan of the event was R³: Rise. Reach. Results. reflects the main goal of our foundation: to grow, expand our reach and achieve results. Over the past 3 years, the foundation’s team has helped thousands of children, IDPs, veterans and war victims. We have become part of a great story of kindness – and this is just the beginning.

🔹 The event program included:

  • opening and keynote speech of the Foundation’s CEO Yana Paladieva on the results and vision of development;
  • a panel discussion “On the everyday: how the culture of aid in Ukraine is changing” with the participation of:
  1. Oleksandr Tolokonnikov, Head of Internal and Information Policy Department of Kherson Regional State Administration;
  2. Vitaliy Razzhyvin, Information Coordination and Management Specialist of the Food Security and Livelihoods Cluster in Eastern Ukraine;
  3. Oleksiy Savchuk, Head of the CO “CF ‘Globa22’, Managing Partner of Assyria Law Firm, member of the Bar Council of Dnipropetrovska oblast;
  4. Ilya Lutsenko, volunteer, manager of the Lions on a Jeep Charitable Foundation, TV presenter and editor;
  • Presentation of Rise of Ukraine Awards to key partners and friends of the foundation:
  1. Main Supporter of the Year – GIZ (German Society for International Cooperation);
  2. Backstage Hero – Oleksandr Tolokonnikov (Kherson Regional State Administration);
  3. Media Support of the Year – Dnipro TV;
  4. Heart-to-Heart Partner – People in Need (Czech non-governmental humanitarian organization);
  5. True Friend of Rise – Miguel Luft, a paramedic and friend from abroad who is always there for us.
  • We would also like to thank our friends who were unable to attend in person, and their awards have already been mailed to them:
  1. Rebuild & Rise Award – Helvetas;
  2. Community that drives change – Tomakivska community;
  3. Social Impact Business of the Year – Danone.
  • an informal part with a cake, candles and a joint symbolic ritual of hope.

    The focus of the event was gratitude. We recognized those who support us every day with resources, trust, and joint projects. After all, charity is not a one-time action, it is a process that relies on people.

    A special element was the moment when each guest lit a candle with their own wish – for Ukraine, for the future, for themselves. A small light that turned into a big one together.

    We thank everyone who was with us that day. And also to those who are behind the scenes: our military, who allow us to plan for the future. We see not only difficulties but also strength ahead.

    Rise of Ukraine is about what grows with faith.

    The Team That Holds the Process Together Charitable organizations tend to talk about outcomes. The number of aid deliveries, the volume of assistance provided, the projects completed. How Changes in Space Transform Everyday Life: the Rise of Shelter Project in Dnipro
    In Dnipro, there is a place where people learn how to move forward after being forced to relocate. The “Dzherelo Pidtrymky” shelter has been hosting internally displaced persons for nearly four years and, for many, has become a temporary home. With the financial support of Hungarian Interchurch Aid, we implemented the Rise of Shelter project […]

    Pavlo: A Story About a Childhood That Has to Be Rebuilt
    Pavlo is eleven. He is from Kharkiv — a city where a significant part of his life remains: training sessions, performances, first victories, and the familiar environment that shapes a child far more than it might seem. Before the full-scale invasion, his days were filled with activity. He sang, competed in regional contests, won prizes, […]

    Balloons That Survived the War
    Before the war, Liudmyla Vynnyk lived in a small town called Novovorontsovka in the Kherson region. Those balloons became her life’s work. As far back as […]
