Three years of Rise of Ukraine: how a small team is changing a big country

We are three years old. And this is not about “childhood” age at all. It’s about thousands of support stories, hundreds of bold decisions, and one big mission – to be there when it hurts the most.

We are Rise of Ukraine. And we are here to support, inspire and act. We started as a small volunteer initiative with a big dream. And today we are a team that drives change in dozens of communities and the hearts of thousands of people.

Who are we inside?
15 determined people in the team. 20+ volunteers who are always in touch. 25+ partners who have entrusted us with the most valuable thing – a common cause. We are different in our specialties, but we share the same values. We do not wait for the “perfect moment” – we create it ourselves. And most importantly, we believe that good deeds have no geography but have the power to change everything.

What do we do?
We help. In the literal sense. We deliver humanitarian aid to places where no one else can reach. We support hospitals that save lives every day. We create safe spaces for children and families. We organize training courses to not only support but also provide new opportunities. We rebuild not only buildings but also faith. And we work with veterans to make their way in peaceful life a little easier.

And now, the numbers behind it
We conducted 82 humanitarian missions and delivered 237 tons of aid. 25,428 people received support. 17 hospitals have been provided with the necessary equipment – a total of 14 tons of medical supplies. We have already restored 5 infrastructure facilities. We have also trained our team at 60+ trainings (because a strong team is also a resource!).

RISE HUB: the heart of our care
Our hub in Dnipro is 350 square meters, where 620 classes were held in 548 days. This is not just a room. It is a world of opportunities.

Here, IDP children and civilians affected by the war study, draw, dream, train, and simply feel safe again. We have:

  • Digital Academy (IT, graphics, video, illustration)
  • Art Academy (art and inspiration)
  • Dream Academy (languages, psychology, creativity)
  • Cinema and lecture hall (films, clubs, workshops)
  • Active gym (karate, yoga, acrobatics, boxing)

In just one year, we held 122 children’s events attended by over 4200 participants!

The world knows about us
We share our stories not only in Ukraine. Rise charity exhibitions have already been seen in Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Our ethnic festivals have brought together 7000 guests and 736 000 hryvnias for help – because even by dancing you can support those who are struggling.

What’s next?
We are opening a branch in Kyiv to support even more communities. We plan to expand our programs for young people, teenagers, and the elderly. We are launching new initiatives for veterans, because adaptation should not be words but actions.

We are here because there are many of us
All of this was made possible by those who are close to us. Our partners. Donors. Volunteers. Friends. And you. We are a team that lives, inspires, and helps. We are Rise of Ukraine.

There is more to come. And only upwards. Together with Rise! 💙💛

Rise of Ukraine and the Dnipro District Military Administration Sign a Memorandum of Cooperation
In times of full-scale war, supporting people and communities requires a united effort. No single organization can address all the challenges facing Ukrainian society today. That is why cooperation between public authorities, civil society organizations, and charitable foundations remains one of the most effective tools for creating sustainable solutions and ensuring timely support for those […]

Dream Championship: How Football Helped Raise UAH 300,000 for Children’s Summer Camp
Sometimes the most important score of a match is not displayed on the scoreboard. You can see it in the people who come together around a shared purpose. In the donations made between halves. In teams that step onto the field for more than just victory. And in children’s dreams that become a little closer […]

The Team That Holds the Process Together
The Team That Holds the Process Together Charitable organizations tend to talk about outcomes. The number of aid deliveries, the volume of assistance provided, the projects completed. Far less often does the focus fall on the people behind those processes — the ones who weave them into the fabric of daily work. At Rise of […]

How Changes in Space Transform Everyday Life: the Rise of Shelter Project in Dnipro
In Dnipro, there is a place where people learn how to move forward after being forced to relocate. The “Dzherelo Pidtrymky” shelter has been hosting internally displaced persons for nearly four years and, for many, has become a temporary home. With the financial support of Hungarian Interchurch Aid, we implemented the Rise of Shelter project […]

Fedir: An Experience That Has to Be Accepted and Lived Through
Fedir Samburskyi, call sign “Shkiper,” speaks about his journey without any attempt to simplify it or frame it through easy formulas. For him, this experience does not add up to a single story that can be briefly retold — it looks more like a sequence of decisions and states that a person has to remain […]
